MISSION STATEMENT

Bradford County Humane Society is an animal welfare organization whose fundamental mission is to alleviate and prevent pain and suffering among animals and to promote the humane treatment of all living things.

Bradford County Humane Society works to achieve its mission by operation a shelter for abandoned, unwanted and abused animals, and by investigation of and taking action on reports of cruelty to animals. The Bradford County Humane Society also educates the public on the needs and behavior of animals to prevent neglect and cruelty from happening in the first place. The Bradford County Humane Society initiates and promotes life saving measures such as adoption, fostering, spay/neuter programs, return to owner and humane education.

BCHS is a front line no-kill shelter for Bradford and Sullivan Counties. In the last few years, stray dogs have increased in number which means BCHS needs to expand just to handle emergency cases.
